At Park School we aim to provide opportunities for the development of the whole child inside the classroom and outside. In addition to the full range of academic subjects (in accordance with the National Curriculum), we offer every child the opportunity to experience a broad range of teaching and challenging environments in many extra-curricular areas.
At the beginning of each academic year there is a ‘Curriculum Meeting’ for parents during which teachers explain what the children will be learning and how parents can support from home.
Numerous visits are undertaken each term to support work done in the classroom. We enjoy exploring the many excellent facilities available in Dorset and Hampshire as well as further afield. The visits are appropriate to the age of the children and very carefully planned by the teaching staff.
Curriculum Forecast information, available online at the beginning of each term, inform parents of what their children will be taught throughout the term.
These forecasts are reviewed termly and updated in line with ongoing pupil assessment and changes to the National Curriculum.
