Dorset Echo: Former Dean Park Cricket Pavilion Transformed As Training Venue

A FORMER cricket pavilion with a spectacular view of Bournemouth’s old Dean Park ground has been reopened as a venue for training and conferences.

Dean Park Training will be both a base for coaching people who work in early years education and a venue for hire to businesses.

The business has been set up by Dean Park Day Nursery and Park School, which bought the former Dorset and Hampshire cricket ground in 2014.

The pavilion, which has been out of use since the 1980s and was boarded up, looks out over 6.5 acres of sports fields. It has been refurbished and renamed the Gallery, which can accommodate around 40 people with its main venue plus breakout rooms.

Exciting Developments at Park School

Reception Garden:

During the Summer holidays we have been busy enhancing our current outdoor provision around our Reception classrooms. The area has been designed to create an exciting and new learning environment for our Reception pupils and this will provide a stimulating and inspiring area for outdoor play. Phase one has seen the arrival of new outdoor resources; developing areas for creative and imaginative play as well as fine and gross motor skills, whilst learning about nature. Further exciting developments are planned for the year ahead.

We are committed to developing our ICT curriculum to equip our pupils with skills for the future. This commitment has been demonstrated through an IT spend of over £90K during the last academic year, culminating over the Summer holiday with the replacement of all the computers in the ICT suite and various upgrades of classroom technology and infrastructure.

New Lunch Menus:

This term we are refreshing our lunch menu once again and this will see the return of some real favourites as well as some tasty new recipes; do take a look at the menu board each week!
