Our Partnership with Parents
Parental involvement in the teaching and learning process is a crucial element to pupil success. Our philosophy is simple…we succeed together.
Parents are regularly invited to assemblies and productions and are encouraged to accompany the children on educational trips and visits.
Excellent communication is an essential part of an outstanding school. When parents, pupils and the school are pulling in the same direction, the progress pupils achieve will often surpass all expectation.
A written report on each individual’s progress is sent to parents five times a year. Each report contains attainments in Reading, Writing and Mathematics.
Formal parent/teacher meetings take place every term.
Class teachers are available in the mornings and release their pupils directly to parents at the end of each day, providing the opportunity to talk.
Reading Records and Homework Diaries provide additional methods of communication and parents are encouraged to discuss matters concerning their children with the teachers and the Headteacher at any mutually convenient time.
At the start of each school day the Headteacher, Bursar or Principal Administrator may often be seen standing at the school gate to welcome children and parents.
Friends of Park School (FOPS)
Friends of Park School (FOPS) is an organisation that invites parents to make an active contribution to the life of the school. Each year FOPS puts on a programme of events in tandem with the School. These have included Race Nights, Quiz Evenings and the Summer Party for parents and Children in Need Day and School Discos for the children. FOPS is also instrumental in running the annual Summer Fete.
Each year, FOPS raises funds, which are divided between supporting our pupils and a nominated local charity. FOPS is led by a Chair and Deputy Chair. Each class has a parent or two who act as FOPS Representatives. They are involved in attending FOPS meetings (usually each term) led by the FOPS Chair and Deputy Chair and assisting the FOPS Chair and Deputy Chair with school-wide events.
